🚀 Our Story

I started Digestible Notes with a vision to make studying law and becoming a lawyer as accessible as possible. I was fed up of the inaccessible language used by lecturers and the poor transparency of legal recruiters. Four years later that vision is as true as ever, with over 5,000,000 students benefiting from the site so far!

Going back to my uni days, I was frustrated by the mixed success of my law applications, blaming my failures on a few poor grades, gaps in my work experience, and the feeling that I simply wasn't good enough. It felt as though I would spend days writing the 'perfect' application, only to receive yet another rejection email.

However, by the time I had graduated I was fortunate enough to receive offers from 5 of the world's leading law firms and offers from both Cambridge & Oxford University to pursue a masters in law. The reason for this success was simple: I learned how to write enticing applications that were impossible to reject.

⚗️ The Secret to Law Application Success

Over the past few years, I've been fortunate enough to build a team of individuals who are directly involved in selecting the next generation of lawyers at law firms, barristers' chambers, and universities from across the world. Using our combined resources we worked together to reveal the secret sauce to get your foot in the door and stand out from all the applicants. And you know what? There is no secret. It's mostly just a matter of:

  1. Researching them properly
  2. Tailoring the application to their specific requirements
  3. Repeating this for a handful of law firms or barristers' chambers

That's all it takes. I can guarantee that if you follow this simple, 3-part formula, you will receive offers almost as soon as you've hit 'send'. It's not all that difficult to achieve your dreams, so long as you follow fundamental steps and knowing how to write an application properly helps open up so many doors in your life 😊

But sadly, once you have the application in front of you, these steps are easier said than done.

🎯 The Challenges

Sending applications can be seriously demoralising. You will get rejected a lot when you begin. You'll have friends and acquaintances tell you about their application successes, which just makes it feel worse. You'll have to figure out what to say about yourself and why the recruiter is going to care about what you have to say.

You'll need to spend hours researching the law firm or barristers' chambers, but won't really be too sure what you're looking for. You'll worry that you haven't got enough legal experience. You'll constantly be thinking that you aren't good enough, and should start considering a job in a completely field.

And you'll have to do all this (and a lot more) while juggling your studies, relationships, and health, while also doing your best to enjoy the journey.

This is hard. It takes a lot of word. But, if you can just learn the fundamentals of creating a winning law application, it's genuinely life-changing.

If there's one at all, the real "secret" is to build SYNERGY between you and the law firm or barristers' chambers that you are applying to, so that they quickly see the value in selecting you without having to wade through the huge amount of waffle that most applicants will produce. Instead of thinking of your application as a career step, you want to think about it like an invitation. An invitation that allows you to efficiently demonstrate value to the recruiter and show them that you belong there with them.

Our team selects future lawyers based on this synergy, and I can help you build yours.
