Roots of Quadratic Equations

Introduction

For real numbers a, b and c, if the roots of the quadratic equation az2 + bz + c = 0 are non-real complex numebrs, then they occur as conjugate pairs

Another way of stating this is that for a real-value quadratic function f(z), if z1 is a root of f(z) = 0 then z1* is also a root

You can also use this fact to find one root if you know the other, or to find the original equation
